Queer Curismo is Joselito Flores Castillo and his community

Joselito Flores Castillo is a healer, a storyteller, a teacher, a dancer, a musician, a dynamic creative being. He is an intuitive healer who descends from a long line of curanderos and who grew up gay in a conservative Tex-Mex Mormon family.

He taught kindergarten for fourteen years, and has been an actor, choreographer, dancer and director in the Seattle area for the last 40 years. Joselito ran his dance studio, South Side Dance Force, from 1997-2016. He is a founding member of El Vortex, a spiritual community space, and the current home of Queer Curismo.

Through Queer Curismo, he carries on the work of his abuelito, Eliseo Flores, who was a curandero in Texas.

Joselito currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with his partner Randy, and their dog, Rupert the Basenji.
